I should have just paid the money for DHL. At least the woman at the Post Office here is really nice. Things to note: a) “next day” express only applies between capital cities. b) registered mail with insurance can only be sent slowly. c) slowly means 8 days from melbourne to port douglas. d) 8 days from last monday is next tuesday. e) i am frustrated with this outcome, all for stupidly leaving a phone behind.
I am leaving Port Douglas today without my phone. I will have to come back for it or have it sent along or something. I’m catching a free ride down to Cairns and hopefully hanging out with the Aussies I met last weekend. Port Douglas is remarkably chilled out and nice, which is good– I’ll be seeing more of it.
